*slaps hand* bad blogger

October29

omg. I’m such a bad blogger. I let more than a week go by without posting, *gasp*. Anyway. My birthday went great, Davidson sweats and Sookie Stackhouse books for me! Not to mention some money from the friends and relatives. The sweats had to be turned in for a bigger size but I’m finally wearing them (mmm warm and comfy) and the books didn’t last long, finished the last of three that i got just today.

I’m at the beach now, in the old Jo-Ja II, hangin with the familia. My aunt Liz and Uncle John are down here with the twins too. They’re so big! and they have way more hair. Funny how that works isn’t it? It’s so great being at the beach, we got in at 10 last night, stayed up until 12 and then i woke up at 6:30, woo. I think I might have sleep insomnia or something. Lordy. But it’s still fun to be here with the waves and the sun and the sand. It’s one of my favorite places in the world.

But anyway, school was a struggle this week with midterms and all. I did pretty good on all but Geometry, I bubbled like 4 answers wrong, stupid bubble sheet… I should get a 5.0 for the quarter anyways. I should probably step it up on this whole grades thing or I might get complacent and get totally slammed next semester. Any way you look at it I’m probably going to get totally slammed next semester but hey, getting lazy isn’t going to help. I really do do too much crap. Between rugby, gsa, deca, student council, theatre class, youth council, disciple, and youth group, I’m a little swamped. But you know, life.

But hey, right now, for the next 4 days, I’m at the beach. With my family. and very little to do in the world. Except of course memorizing my monologue, and selling class shirts, and getting my reading done for disciple, and preparing for youth sunday night, and preparing myself mentally for a quarter of health with ms. johnson. Blurg. Screw this. I’m never going to have another relaxing moment ever.

La Dee Da

October21

This is just a quick little post, I’ll probably post later after glee. I just wanted to get caught up on the last day or so. Visiting Piedmont was pretty fun, Jose was wrong when he told me there was going to be a musical rehearsal, I opened the door and it was dark. Blurg. But I got to see some old teachers, Mrs. Madan (….), Ms. Carlson (she’s engaged!), Ms. Stoneburner (Now Mrs. Bell! lol Mel Bell.), and Ms. Delery (good old davidson gal). Like, none of the eighth grade teachers were there, they scadadal at the bell I guess. So I chilled, tutored some sixth graders, it was all good. My ankle refuses to heal but my face is all better, sorta. I’m still all bruised from saturday too but I hope I can practice tomorrow. Savannah’s going to come out! Speaking of sports, there was a soccer meeting today. Lordy. I feel bad for those varsity girls, of course I’ll try to get to that level of play but it looks like it’s going to be really competitive. I’m going to have to get on it and start conditioning now. But that’s about the extent of my day. Oh yeah, in case I didn’t say before, the drama is mostly over, i know one of my friends and i are pretty much good as new, not so sure about the other. But hey, everything heals with time.

October19

There has been a lot of drama in my life recently, and I’m so over it. Since high school started, a lot of things have changed. People have come in and out of my life and naturally the people I know have changed, mostly in a positive way. It’s been fun meeting new people and making new friends but it’s your old friends you always rely on. Unfortunately, mine seem to be of the opinion that I am the one who has changed. To me it seems more like they have, my old friends never would have cared what other people thought of me. I definitely don’t, I’m going to be who I’m going to be and nobody can change that. It seemed like they gave me an ultimatum, change or we can’t be your friend. Well I can’t change so…. The light side is it has sparked a lot of support among my other friends. I really hope we can move on and get over this but hey, it’s all up to them.

This has been quite the punishing weekend, a dramatic saturday morning then off to the rugby match from hell. The result, a girl with a twisted ankle, a girl with an injured wrist and then little old me over here with a twisted ankle and scratches down my face. All the boys were very impressed. I think the ankle is going to get me out of rugby tomorrow and i might go to Piedmont instead. I miss all the people there, but somehow i’m a little scared of being let down by the old place. Like over the summer i’ve built it up in my mind and when I go it’ll just be a school. All of the spirit i’ve given it with my memories faded away. But then I know that the auditorium where I first started to find my voice will never be just a stage. I know that the halls where I spent three years won’t be just empty halls, they’ll be filled with the life of those who are now there, even if my Piedmont days are the ones I see in them.

Wow. I sound so….what’s the word? fake. Ah well. It’s the way I feel about the place, even if it was just middle school. Plus I want to go see all the old seventh graders and musical people. I want to see my teachers, not too many are left. All my sixth grade ones are gone. A couple of my seventh grade ones are around and a couple eighth grade ones. I’ll probably just make the rounds of eighth grade ones. Their the cooler ones, mostly. But the big teacher I want to see is Mrs. MacLeod. I’ll probably go visit her last, along with the musical peeps. But enough about that, I need to get the picks of the week up! (Featuring Avril Lavigne’s Keep Holding On.)

Pig Flu

October8

My little sister has Swine Flu! Personally, I think it’s awesome. But she doesn’t think so, they won’t let her back to school until monday, she’s been out since yesterday. If she gives it to me, I don’t want it until Monday, then I get to miss all three of my school days. Anyway. When I told everybody that she had it, not many people thought it was as cool as I did. I don;t understand why everyone is so freaked out by the pig flu, it isn’t any worse than the regular flu. I mean the regular flu kills just as many people a year as swine flu is supposed to. And yet whenever you talk about swine flu, everyone freaks. It’s not that big a deal. seriously. get over it people.

No Day But Today

October7

There has been something everyday this week. Theater class on Monday; rugby on Tuesday, not to mention my sister’s birthday, which means dinner with the grandparents and the davidson vs. duke soccer game (WE WON!). Then today a student council meeting. Tomorrow, rugby and finally a free day on friday. But hey, viva la vida, no day but today, carpe diem, all that good stuff. Glee was great today, though Emma and Mr Shoester need to get together and Finn and Rachel need to get together. It just needs to happen. Loved the girl’s Halo/Walking on Sunshine mix. Anyways, two steps back, the duke vs. Davidson game was amazing! I was tired but it was so much fun, saw tons of people including my beasting youth leader Pat and his adorable children. I have met my perfect man in his son, he is white blonde, cute, funny, and four. Perfection. Anyways, Duke was the number 6 team and Davidson wasn’t ranked, we won 4-1. It was an awesome game, those boys played their hearts out, special shout out to the super tall goalie! Blurg. I have to do a geometry project…super blurg. I really don’t want to but it’s due Monday, not to mention a Fashion Merch. test on Friday. Bleck, guess that’s life, just gotta take it day by day and survive as best you can. Alrighty that’s mostly it for the day. We’ll end with some rent lyrics, had them stuck in my head recently, need to rewatch the movie….

“La Vie Boheme, to days of inspiration, playing hookey, making something out of nothing, the need to express- to communicate, to going against the grain, going insane, going mad.”

-Mark(Anthony Rapp)+Cast of Rent
